Characterizing Yeast Vitality
April 17, 2020
The normal digestive health of yeast is defined as a state of vitality and is primarily controlled by the vacuole. One way to measure change in yeast vitality is to disrupt conditions conducive to vacuolar uptake. In this assay vitality is quantified by a dual staining dye that changes from green to red when internalized by the vacuole, indicating a metabolically active cell.
